If you’re from Chicago, today is a great day (as Jack would say) The Blackhawks advanced in the playoffs last night! The game was intense. The fact that it was game 7, and HAD to be won, made the intensity triple. We were pumped up all day for the game. I have been wearing a Hawks shirt on game days lately, yesterday was no exception.
I am a big hockey fan. I have been watching hockey since I was little. My dad is a huge Blackhawks fan. One of my brothers played hockey, so I spent a lot of time in ice rinks as a child. I was able to introduce the sport to my husband. Wisconsin, surprisingly, does not have a professional hockey team. So, he grew up watching football, not surprising in Wisconsin! Once he started watching hockey, he was hooked. We are huge fans. Even Jacky loves the sport. At 2 years old, he knows who the Hawks are, that they play hockey, they use a hockey stick, they score goals, etc.
We thought we had it for a moment, and then that rather fishy call was made that the goal was no good. Tension took over our basement. Bring on OT. Sitting on the edge of our seats we waited, hoping, for a goal. We even let Jack stay up for the whole game. Partly because WE didn’t want to miss a beat and bedtime can take a while! HA! Priorities, right? He was fine and excited to spend extra time with us.
They did it, Seabrook, to be exact, scored the winning goal. Clinching their advancement towards the very coveted Stanley Cup. Bring on LA!
Just a few photos from yesterday. I should have popped in a picture, but I was distracted 😉
